LOB Bulletin 54 14th July 2025

As I write I am aware that we are coming to the end of another term.  It has been a busy term with many units going on holidays and days out.  We had the county Teddy’s Travel event in June which saw 120 Rainbows and their leaders enjoy a variety of activities supplied by Ellen and her team.  My thanks to them and the other volunteers that came without their girls to support the event.  Next it was Chigwell’s come to camp.  This saw units from across the county and outside join together on a very hot June weekend.  Yvonne and her term put on many activities for the girls to enjoy during the Saturday and then the evening ended with a large campfire and silent disco. My thanks go out to Janice and her term of workers who supplied the campers with food the whole weekend.  Aside from the main come to camp campers there were separate camps catering for themselves but enjoying the activities on the Saturday. I hope you will find time for yourselves during the summer break.  It a time to recharge your batteries and spend time with your families without worrying about what you unit is doing next week.  Tuesday sees many volunteers getting together for the annual thank you evening.  Fingers cross that the weather will be kind for this event as it is outside. Whatever the weather I hope to see many of you there.  Thank you for all your do for Girlguiding in your areas.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
