Trefoil Guild

The Trefoil Guild is part of Girlguiding but has a separate constitution and is independently administered.

The aim and objectives of The Trefoil Guild are:

  • to give practical, financial and moral support to Guiding and Scouting
  • to keep alive among members the spirit of the Guide and Scout Promises and Laws
  • to carry that spirit into the communities in which members live and work.

But it’s not all about the girls – there are plenty of opportunities for members to try something new, take on a new personal challenge and escape the daily routine. The best thing is that what you do is up to you!

London Over the Border (LOB) Trefoil Guild

Charles Dickens gave the name ‘London Over the Border’ to all Londoners east of Aldgate Pump.

We have 5 Guilds in our county covering the London Boroughs of Dagenham and Barking, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.

Our usual monthly meeting times (September to July) are:

Dagenhan East– Thursday Evening
Ilford– Thursday Afternoon or Evening
Waltham Forest South– Thursday Evening
West Ham– Thursday at 2pm
Woodford– Saturday at 2pm

Whether you’re involved in guiding or not, Trefoil Guild is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your next adventure – whatever that might be!

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
