LOB Bulletin 48 28th July 2024

This term has seen a variety of events at Chigwell Row.  The Rainbow in Wonderland saw 107 Rainbows and their leaders share in an afternoon of crafts, games and singing. Our thanks go out to Ellen and her team for all their hard work.  Next, we had the cream tea organised by West Ham and East Ham division.  Even though it was a wet event the volunteers and young people made it a great experience. The tea just kept flowing. Come 2 Camp event saw over 300 young people, 29 adventurous activities and lots of memories being created.  Thanks to Yvonne, Tony and their team of volunteers.  We ended the term with our annual thank you evening.  The weather was good to us and thanks goes to Janice for the lovely food prepared for the evening.

I was honoured to present the various good service, leadership and GAW awards plus a variety of long service awards. Which saw Diane Salter receive her 50-year service award. I presented Pauline McManus with her 60-year service award at her home. I ended by presenting Coutney Ellis with her Queen’s Guide award.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
