LOB Bulletin 52 19th January 2025

A new year and new opportunities await girls and volunteers.  It is time to look at waiting lists and contact parents of girls that have been waiting a long time some since 2023!  I know some leaders have invited more girls to join than their unit usually takes, and this is fantastic news, but our girl waiting/enquiries are still very high as a county, and I would encourage every unit to take one or two more girls off the waiting lists.  Divisions are also showing a good number of adults wishing to support the organisation so let’s see if we can get them to support units.  As a county we have grown since 1st January, and we now have eight divisions.  Welcome to Tower Hamlets and Hackney divisions who have joined the LOB family.  Please look carefully at county events in this newsletter.  Events cannot run with out volunteer support before (planning and purchasing resources) and during the event manning activities or registration/enquiry desk.

Congratulations

I am sure you will join me and the county team in welcoming the following volunteers to their new roles

Sophie Cass – Division Commissioner for Tower Hamlets – sophie.girlguidingtowerhamlets@gmail.com

Maureen Sinclair- Benstead – Division Commissioner for Hackney

Yours in Guiding

Annette

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
