LOB Bulletin 51 22nd December 2024

We are now coming to the end of another year and what a year it has been.  You have delivered a varied programme for your girls to take part in.  Many leaders have taken their girls on residentials independently or attended large events arranged by region or our own Chigwell Row site.  Units have taken part in an animal adventure or tried out activities that challenged their girls. A massive thank you on behalf of them for giving them this opportunity.  You will see from the newsletter from Chigwell that there will be new activities available in 2025 together with the activities the girls already enjoy.  There will also be activity days just for sections to attend.  To ensure these runs smoothly I ask that every volunteer look in their diary to see if they can give time to support any event even if they are not bringing their own girls.

Christmas Wreath Making and crafts

The event was well received, and our thanks goes out to members of Waltham Forest South Division for arranging this Christmas event.  A special thank you goes to Pam Bullen for running Pyrography, Macrame Christmas Decorations and Christmas Napkin holders both days and Elaine Humm who stepped in at the last minute to run the wreath making session on the Saturday.  We do have some very talented volunteers in LOB.

Which division will run the next fundraising event for Chigwell?

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
